The sweet pea 'Blue Shift' is one of the most admired and easy-to-grow blue-purple varieties. The buds and newly opened flowers are purple, but the color changes to ultramarine blue before they wither. Long, strong stems make it very nice in arrangements. Keith Hammett, New Zealand.
